In 1869, Monet and Renoir set up their easel, side by side, to immortalize the atmosphere of La Grenouillère… Monet attached himself to landscapes, Renoir was more into the details of the people gathered there to indulge in the pleasures of banks of the Seine. This islet, the famous "camembert", was the link between the two moored barges: one dedicated to cabins for swimmers and canoeists, the other for dancing, simple cooking made of fried foods and the "guinguet". .
